New national standard for the control of the performance of aerodrome lights

Within the framework of the activities of the TC of the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology (ROSSTANDART) for national standardization TC 323 "Aviation equipment" was prepared for the approval of GOST R "Aerodrome light-signal lights based on LEDs. Measuring methods for lighting characteristics”, developed by the Russian Lighting Research Institute (VNISI) with the support of the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs of the RUSNANO Group. Against the background of the increasingly widespread introduction of LED nanotechnology solutions, the need to develop a standard is associated with the lack of regulatory documents governing the requirements for measuring the quality characteristics of signaling equipment using LEDs for airfields.
